Professional Photography Sessions

Are you a photographer looking for a place to capture the perfect photos of your clients surrounded by gorgeous dahlias in bloom? Or even while your clients carefully pick their own bouquets in a private cutting garden? What about a perfect sunset on the hill with the tree tops peeking out behind a vintage John Deere tractor or Rustic Jeep Truck? We have several private areas that we make available to photographers by appointment only. While some of these areas are not open to U-Pick customers, registered professional photographers have access to all of them. 

When we first discussed opening Ruthie Mae Blooms to the public, we knew we wanted to offer intimate experiences to our customers over high volume bookings. Photography groups will not be on top of each other waiting in line to use a space or jockeying for the best angle. In addition, we host our photographers at different times than our U-pick events, so you won’t have to worry about random people popping up in your shots. We want everyone to be able to relax and enjoy their time here. Whether you choose a golden hour shoot, catch the gorgeous glowing sky of sunrise or anything in between, rest assured there is always a great place to shoot. 

Dahlias:

If you are coming to photograph your clients in the dahlias, please check with Melissa to verify they are blooming. Usually by early to mid August most are showing their faces and will continue to pump out the blooms until the first hard freeze in Oct/Nov. I will also announce the full dahlia bloom on social media! 

Prop Add On’s: 

I offer 2 Photo Bouquet Packages.

U-Pick Cutting Garden Bouquet Package $25: Photograph your client while they pick a bouquet in the cutting garden. I will provide a lovely prop vessel for cutting into that will compliment photos. I will send your client home with a U-Pick bouquet cup to keep their flowers fresh.

Custom Hand Tied Bouquet $60: I will create a custom hand tied bouquet just for your photo session. I am happy to discuss in-season color and style options. I will send your client home with a U-Pick bouquet cup to keep their flowers fresh.

Furniture:

Do you have clients that would love to take photos on a vintage couch or high back chair? I have curated a few pieces that can be rented as props for your sessions. Once reserved, these will be in place upon your arrival. 

Trucks, Tractors and more:

We also have a 1956 Antique John Deere tractor, an old 1949 Jeep truck, and a vintage stock trailer that you may use at no charge.

Be sure and select the desired add ons when booking your session time slots and contact Melissa so that we can prepare them for you. 

Payment and Booking a Session:

Full payment is required to reserve your time slot. 

**f you are wanting a family pet in the photo, please contact Melissa to discuss prior to booking your time slot. 

Booking is non refundable. I am happy to reschedule your session due to active inclement weather. (Not based on a “chance”)

Session Pricing:

1 hour session for one client : $35 per hour

1 hour session for multiple clients/mini’s: $100 per hour

Session Notes:

The first session of the day is intended for sunrise photos. Arrive as needed.

The last session of the day is intended for Sunset photos. The farm closes just after sunset.

The farm is normally closed to photographers during U-pick hours. If you need a session during a U-Pick time please contact Melissa to discuss.
